We have just spent a lovely couple of nights at FER and highly recommend going! Fabulous hosts, lovely cosy accommodation and really nice stabling (my horse is 17.1hh and had more than ample room). Great to have grazing right next door to the stable too! Just made everything that so much easier having a horsey holiday with a toddler 🙂 Thank you for having us xx

My adult daughter and I had the most wonderful weekend staying here with our horses. The shepherds hut is beautiful and immaculately clean. The stables are brand new spotless and spacious and a lovely post and rail paddock for the horses. You can literally ride straight out into the forest and be gone all day without seeing a soul. Susie is so friendly , helpful and welcoming. All in all this is the perfect place for a little holiday with your horses . We will 100% be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I took my 12 year old daughter who is going through a rough patch, to cheer her up, i’ve never seen her smile so much. We honestly had the time of our lives! We hacked for miles through the forest, saw the wild ponies, galloped along Holkham Beach & went for a lovely meal in the most beautiful local restaurant! The shepherds hut is just fantastic, so cosy & to have our ponies right outside the window was a dream! I would recommend this place 100% & will definately be returning xx.

It was our second visit this year to FER. We had a fabulous time. The horses settled immediately into their stables and were happy and relaxed - Great access to the hacking literally cross one road and you’re in the forest. Will definitely be returning!

Just returned from our weekend stay and honestly am still stunned with how incredible this place really is. The stables are beautiful, the rubber matting and thickness of the bed that had been laid was just as we would at home. the yard set up was excellent. The accommodation was so clean, with some lovely extras. The log burner had us toasty in no time and the bed was extra comfy. Shower was so lovely and hot, it really was faultless. We ate breakfast at Brown's which is about a 5 min drive in lorry, plenty of parking for the lorry and the breakfast was delish. We also ate at the Elevedon Inn which was also very nice and again plenty of parking for the lorry. The main event of riding was absolutely fantastic. you literally cross the road and there are hours and hours of hacking. we had the best hacks, would ride for 3 hours and not see a single other person. Really is out of this world whether you want a leisurely stroll or a never ending gallop there is something for everyone. We were so well looked after, nothing was to much trouble, the horses settled perfectly and all in all a place we will definitely be returning to. Thanks so much for having us, couldn't fault anything at all.

Had the most lovely experience staying here the last couple of days!It was the first time we’d taken our horses on holiday before and what a perfect place to stay; horses were so settled as it’s so peaceful, nice big airy stables with bars in between, big beds already bedded down for our arrival and a nice little paddock right beside the stables. Located opposite the entrance to the forest meant we were straight off the road for miles of amazing hacking where we barely saw anyone on each of our rides. The hut we stayed in was situated right in front of the stables so we could literally step outside and see the ponies. The hut had everything we needed, was very clean and the box of cakes left on the side was a lovely little welcome gesture. For anyone looking for a relaxing break away with their ponies I’d highly recommend staying here, I didn’t want to go home!

This was my second visit. We had a fab time, the hacking is endless, miles and miles of perfect hacking. The hut might be small but is the perfect size for 2 people (and a dog) and the stables and field are ideal for the horses. Susie is a great host, nothing is ever too much trouble! Certainly recommend 😃

Stayed at @forest edge retreat last week for 3 nights. Absolutely lovely cabin - with a brilliant shower and comfortable bed. Susie is one of the most helpful friendly hosts I've ever encountered and really went out her way to make the trip the best possible! The stables are big and airy and my boy who is normally out on grass livery loved them! Best of all the hacking was amazing and went on for miles and miles of super quite paths with perfect ground. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a little getaway 🥰

Just returned home from an absolutely amazing stay at forest edge retreat. The shepherds hut was perfect with the horses right outside. Nothing was too much trouble for the lady that owns it, Susie and some really lovely personal touches. The hacking was amazing with the entrance to the forest literally opposite. Thoroughly recommend forest edge retreat for a completely relaxing beautiful stay. Have already booked for next year! Thanks again Susie see u again soon x
